Sergej Rožman

Sergej Rožman graduated from electronics in 1995 at the University of Ljubljana, Faculty of Electrical Engineering.
He has been employed in Abakus plus d.o.o. since the foundation in 1992. He is one of the founders and the shareholder. His primary job is to research and develop new technologies.
During the study time period, he already began to work in Iskra, where he was beginning to discover high availability solutions on OpenVMS operating system. He introduced into redundant fault tolerant computer solutions. He has almost 15 years of experience from the computer systems high availability.
In the year 1995, he has been attracted by very new operating system, GNU/Linux. He has used GNU/Linux for his own network solutions. Few years later, he has started to develop different kind of GNU/Linux servers as well.
Since the database version 7.1.5, he has involved with Oracle. Together with colleague, they soon succeeded to migrate Oracle database and forms software to GNU/Linux environment. Oracle said that they had no plans to do that at all.
Sergej Rožman has nearly finished master’s degree from telecommunications at Faculty of Electrical Engineering. He has specialized in distributed systems, databases and data integrity.
